If you are already using Segment, getting started with Attribution app becomes very simple and only requires you to set Attribution app as a destination in Segment. 

Your existing Segment implementation should be already collecting all the information that Attribution app needs to track visitors like pageviews, conversions, and identify() calls.

Segment’s integration can collect and transform data for Attribution directly from web applications, mobile applications, and server-side Segment implementations. This removes the need for you to manually install any Attribution app code on your websites, iOS & Android apps, or server code. You get the benefits of tracking with Attribution app, without duplicating the costs and effort associated with adding new tracking code to your applications.

One perk of using Segment to send data to Attribution is that your data set being analyzed by Attribution app will be the same data set that is received by your other tools, like email automation, chat, push, ad conversions, etc., since you are standardizing your data collection steps through Segment.

To integrate Attribution with Segment, simply copy your Attribution Project ID from the Snippets Page and paste that key into the Attribution integration in your Segment settings.

Installing Attribution app is a three part process, you'll need to complete all three to be fully integrated:

  1. Tracking your pages & identifying your visitors 
  2. Sending revenue events 
  3. Connecting your ad platforms 

By using Segment steps 1 & 2 will be completed automatically.

Segment will be used to track your visitors, identify your visitors, and manage events like purchases or subscription renewals. 

You'll still need to connect your ad platforms by going to Settings -> Ad Integrations.
