Install the Attribution app on your BigCommerce store to track storefront visits and orders

Attribution connects to BigCommerce as a store app. Installing it adds the tracking script to your storefront and subscribes to your order updates, so visits and orders reach your dashboard without any theme edits.
Installing
- New to Attribution? Install Attribution from the BigCommerce App Marketplace. The install creates your Attribution account and project and opens the dashboard when it is done.
- Already have a project? Go to Settings → Conversion Integrations, pick BigCommerce and approve the app in your store. The store is linked to the project you started from.
The app requires a Stencil theme. Stores still on the legacy Blueprint templates need to move to Stencil before the install can continue.
What gets tracked
Storefront visits. The app installs the Attribution script through the BigCommerce Scripts API, so every storefront page view is recorded along with the ad parameters and referrer that brought the visitor in. The visitor is tied to their cart, which is how a later order is matched to the visits before it.
Orders. Each time an order changes status, Attribution records an event named after the new status, for example Order Completed or Order Shipped, with the order's totals, currency, payment method and ids as properties. The customer's email, name and addresses are attached as traits, so orders are matched to the visitor by cart first and by email after that.
RevenueRevenue is recorded when an order reaches the status chosen in the integration settings, Completed by default. If your order pipeline uses a different status for a paid order, change Revenue event in the BigCommerce integration settings. Refunded and Partially Refunded orders record the refunded amount as negative revenue.
Pick the status event, such as Order Completed, as the Conversion Event on your dashboard to see which channels drive orders and revenue.
Pages outside your storeThe script is installed on the storefront only. If your ads land on a separate marketing site, install the tracking snippet there too so the visit is captured before the visitor reaches the store.
